iris magazine is a Classics magazine, designed for secondary school children, which aims to make Classics and Classical topics accessible, interesting and relevant. It includes a wide range of material from essays, news, reviews and interviews to artwork, fiction and translation, and children are encouraged to submit material and take part in the magazine in a variety of ways.

The magazine is part of an outreach project, the iris project, which seeks to promote access to Classics in state schools. To this end, the magazine is sent free of charge to state schools that do not yet teach classical subjects. Another 1000 copies are ordered by private schools, university departments, and also interested individuals. The free distribution of the magazine across UK state schools is funded by advertising and orders.

Most of the subscriptions have been from the UK, but there is also a small but significant number of subscribers from American schools and universities. Placing an advertisement in the magazine would reach out to a wide range of readers, and would also help support the magazine's outreach initiative.
